Not Judging Amy

Last Thursday (Aug 18,2011) lsg and myself took the long trip down to the Black Bear in Milford to help judge a live band karaoke contest backed by the band Bandwith Karaoke. The other two judges where Maria Manes from Mindz-I Entertainment and Chris Michols from Darik and the Funbags.

I have to say it was a lot of fun, and I really think we did a good job and weren’t surprised too much by the outcome. The Black Bear of Milford was packed with the enthusiastic fans of the singers and their vote went toward picking the winners as well. We picked 5 finalists out of a field of 18.

 

 

In no particular order these are the 5 finalists and their songs from last week.

Donna Travis – You Oughta Know
Meg Ryan Boudreau- Rolling In The Deep
Will Randolph – Santeria
Melissa Lynn – Last name
Michaele Grant – Like A Pill

This week for the final we will be joined by fellow judges John Dotson of Big Floppy Disk and of way too many other bands to name, Rebecca Mendoza of Frank and the Beans and Gary Gone. This time each singer will get to sing two songs each.
