HOT Rewind
I’ve been carless now for 5 days and it’s putting a real cramp in my social calendar.  Not being a fan of public transportation in CT, all I can wonder is just how does ANYONE survive without wheels?!?!?  Because of this, I was unable to make it to the awesome show (so I hear!) at Café 9 Saturday night – Saucers , The Peacock Flounders, and The Down-Fi.  I’ve heard some tunes from Saucers’ new disk on Rob DeRosa’s Homegrown and Gary Gone’s Radio Independiscand can’t wait to pick up a copy for myself.  Hope to see them next time!

What I DID get to see was another super sexy show put on by Lipgloss Crisis.  Talk Nerdy to Me on Friday night was absolutely…wowza!  Hosted by Robin Banks and Ms Lipgloss Crisis herself, Sara Scranton, some of my favorite beauties in the world performed…Nikki LeVillain, Dot Mitzvah, Lily La Vamp, and Kitty Katastrophe.  The show was a hoot!  For a change, I attended sans any type of camera so my friend, Mike Lauterborn (freelance journalist who’s work is regularly seen in Fairfield Patch), has graciously contributed his pictures for my blog.  Thanks, Mike!

Hope to get the wheels back for the upcoming week!  SO MUCH going on in CT!

“Spot”light on…September 11

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 10 years since the horrible events on September 11.  I FEEL it like it was yesterday as cliché as it sounds.  I bet you do too.  The horror of it all still brings me to tears.  My daughter and I listened in the car on the way to her orthodontist appointment and then we all watched – stunned – at his office, gathered around a little television in their break room.

I’m not going to belabor this because we all have our memories of that day.  I just couldn’t let it pass without passing on my thanks to the first responders and without wishing our planet peace.  Please participate in this…(!/event.php?eid=188415507886095)…and try an act of kindness for someone else this Sunday.  =)

Lisa Sanchez Gonzalez aka lsg

Lover of music and the visual arts, Lisa Sanchez Gonzalez is the insanity behind lsg original photography. lsg specializes in artist and performer photography. She’s had the honor of photographing national bands such as Weezer, Snoop Dogg, A Simple Plan, Paramore, Whitesnake, Wye Oak, and The Antlers along with countless local bands and performers.

Hailing from Hartford, CT, Lisa is a life- long music connoisseur. Growing up, her mother exposed her to everything from The Stones to Simon and Garfunkel to Earth, Wind, and Fire to Loretta Lynn…and everything in between. No genre was left unexplored in her vinyl collection. She saw her first concert at 14…Rod Stewart at the (then called) Hartford Civic Center. Thirty years later, it’s still her favorite pastime.

Lisa has two kids (grown!) and a day job. Her loves of music and photography have melded into a second career. And her love of CT keeps her promoting and pushing for local artists and performers. Lisa spends the greater part of her free time seeing and shooting live bands, performers, and artists and art work…and purchasing vinyl!
