HOT Rewind
Justin Towne Earle

Justin Towne Earle

This week has been interesting.  I was without a computer for a few days so my blog is late.  Technology…

Mike and I tried something new this week with LBR.  We launched our first episode of “Scene Queen lsg”.  It’s a live internet feed where we’ll talk about local entertainment news, have a couple of guests, and have some laughs along the way.  It’s a train wreck.  Look for our next live chat coming soon.  Until then, kick back with a cocktail (or 10.  Wait.  Sorry, that’s me!) and check out Episode one when we talk with Sara Hart from She Eats Planets (http://sheeatsplanets.com/) and lsg talks all things SantaCon.

Tristen opening for the Justin Townes Earle Show

Tristen at Daniel Street in Milford

You’d never know that Daniel Street is closing by the crowd that attended the Justin Townes Earle show on Thursday night.  The house was packed for this special seated show produced by Manic Productions.  And it was well worth the trip.  Opener, Tristen (http://tristen.com/), started us off with a sweet acoustic set filled with songs from her “Charlatans at the Garden   Gate” album.  She’s amazing and fun to watch.  Pick up her album.  I did.  The night, however, clearly belonged to Justin Townes Earle (http://www.justintownesearle.com/).  Justin performed a solid solo acoustic set with tunes from his three albums including many from his latest effort, “Harlem River Blues”.  My favorite of the evening came when he invited Tristen back on stage (along with a member of her band) for the gospel-infused, “Harlem River Blues”.  Check him out if you can!

Lisa Sanchez Gonzalez aka lsg

Lover of music and the visual arts, Lisa Sanchez Gonzalez is the insanity behind lsg original photography. lsg specializes in artist and performer photography. She’s had the honor of photographing national bands such as Weezer, Snoop Dogg, A Simple Plan, Paramore, Whitesnake, Wye Oak, and The Antlers along with countless local bands and performers.

Hailing from Hartford, CT, Lisa is a life- long music connoisseur. Growing up, her mother exposed her to everything from The Stones to Simon and Garfunkel to Earth, Wind, and Fire to Loretta Lynn…and everything in between. No genre was left unexplored in her vinyl collection. She saw her first concert at 14…Rod Stewart at the (then called) Hartford Civic Center. Thirty years later, it’s still her favorite pastime.

Lisa has two kids (grown!) and a day job. Her loves of music and photography have melded into a second career. And her love of CT keeps her promoting and pushing for local artists and performers. Lisa spends the greater part of her free time seeing and shooting live bands, performers, and artists and art work…and purchasing vinyl!
