Lucky Souls – Jam Packed – May 4th 2012

Lucky Souls – Jam Packed – May 4th 2012

I don’t how it snuck up on me so quickly, but the weekend is here again! And it is going to be another jam packed one here in CT. Before I get into what’s happening this weekend, I just want to say what a GREAT time at the Daff Fest last weekend. There was so much great music happening on not one, not two, but THREE stages that I really wasn’t sure which direction to go in at times. Great job by all the organizers, volunteers & bands!  And don’t forget to check LSG’s great pics from the weekend.

On Sunday I headed down to WPKN to hang out with David Golden & see The Nameless Trio perform live on the air. For those not familiar with The Nameless Trio, you can catch part of David’s interview with them here… I have yet to get up any of the music portion of the show, but this should give you an idea what they’re about.

Okay, so let’s get to this weekend…

Speaking of The Nameless Trio, they’ll be playing their usual first Friday gig tonight(of course) at Twisted Vine Restaurant, 285 Main St, Derby. Music starts at 8 p.m., but come early for dinner, because the food at the Vine is really good.

CT Folk ( is also having their first Friday concert, but doing something new this time around. All of the people that are playing at it will be auditioning for a spot on the stage at this yrs Folk Fest. This concert starts at 6:30 & is held at First Presbyterian Church, 704 Whitney Ave, New Haven, CT. There’s a $5.00 admission.

And also on Friday, my friends The Folkadelics ( will be returning to The Outer Space (, 295 Treadwell St, Hamden, CT. $5.00 cover.

On Saturday, The Space & Outer Space will be hosting their first flea market of the year, from 9 to 3 with lots of vendors & music. And while I’m on the subject of The Outer Space, I stopped by for open mic last night & the outdoor stage has been built. It looks great & they are gearing up for a fun summer of shows down there.

I’m pretty sure you all know what’s happening on Sunday, but I will let you know anyway. It is LBR’s Epic ADA Fundraiser at Illusions in Wolcott…8 bands, raffles, & the mechanical bull WILL running!!! All this for only $10, which is going to the American Diabetes Association. So, stop by Illusions & check it out, doors open at noon & things will be going until 9 p.m. Hope to see everyone there!

Last but not least, I managed to get up a couple of vids from the last Lucky Souls Productions show up. The LSP website is getting a facelift right now, so you can find them on our youtube channel, And if you haven’t yet, please give our Facebook page a like, Thanks everyone!

Hope you all have a magical weekend surrounded by lots of music.

Aim D’Amaro – Lucky Souls Productions

By the time she was 12, Amy D’Amaro knew that she wanted a career that would keep her surrounded by music. At 16, she became an intern at WPLR radio in New Haven, CT where she would stay for 5 yrs learning all aspects of music programming at a commercial radio station. In the time that she was at WPLR, she also became friends with many musicians on the local scene & spent much of her time taking in music at venues all over New Haven County.

In 1993, Amy left the radio station to raise her son, but her love of music & the local scene never faded. In 2003 she began what would become a very successful dog walking & pet sitting service, but still spent much of her time checking out the local music scene in both New Haven & Fairfield Counties. In 2009 she began Lucky Souls Productions to help out the local musicians she knew by promoting their music through live video footage. In 2011, Lucky Souls grew & began booking musicians in some of the local venues. When not busy walking dogs or editing videos, Amy still spends much of her time out with friends, supporting the local music scene & venues & attending music festivals.
