HOT Rewind

IT’S BEEN AN ECLECTIC and joyful 2 weeks of music for me.  SWAN Day CT.  Living Colour in Boston!  Interview with Andrew W.K!  John Fries, Little Ugly, & Dan Tedesco!  Prepping for The New England Music Awards!  Whew!

I HAD THE HONOR OF taking part in SWAN Day CT for the 3rd time on March 30.  What an amazing show it was!  The art work was just incredible and the entertainment…well, my pictures will give you a bit of that.  Most memorable moments for me were have the opportunity to see the wonderful Ms. Nicki Mathis perform her wonderful, smooth jazz and to finally see Post-Modern Panic perform.  Rachel Adele C…You ROCK!  Another highlight was the ethereal performance by Farewood along with a lovely dancer who wore the International Peace Belt when she performed.

For more information about the International Peace Belt,

Of course, the gorgeous burlesque performers were outstanding as usual and brought the sexy to the performance

Thanks to Jennifer Hill for another wonderful SWAN Day experience.  You do such an amazing job and are an inspiration to us all!!

Here are my pictures:

I TRAVELED TO BOSTON’S legendary Paradise Rock Club to see Living Colour.  Yes.  The mighty Living Colour.  They blew the roof off of Paradise.  They will be in Fairfield, CT on April 20.  I strongly suggest you go!!  Don’t miss out!

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU know about Andrew W.K.?  I bet he can change all of your notions about him.  He did for me when I spoke with him this week.  My interview is forthcoming but he’s playing Arch Street Tavern on April 19.  It’s this really cool solo show.  Check out the video below for a little taste.  He wants it to be an intimate party with friends!

LASTLY, I CAUGHT A FINE show at Arch Street Tavern on Thursday night.  John Fries came in from New London to start off a great night that also included Little Ugly and Chicago’s, Dan Tedesco.  Each of the bands complimented one another very well.  Dan Tesdesco is someone you should get to know.  He’s a wild man on guitar with a foot stomping – brick?  I was so very glad I made it out to see him!  Pix later…

“Spot”light on… String Theorie and Isaac Young Quartet

There are not one but two terrific CD releases happening this week (4/12).

The early show on Friday night will be the release of Isaac Young Quartet’s album “Staved Eve” at J Rene Coffee Roasters in West Hartford, CT.  That’s at 7:00 pm.  Isaac will have a few special guests appearing with them – including Jennifer Hill.

Here’s a taste of IYQ…

From there, LBR will be traveling to Arch Street Tavern in Hartford, CT to check out the CD release show for String Theorie’s new live album “Live at La Paloma”.  That’s at 10:00 pm.  String Theorie also have Post-Modern Panic and a top secret band (1974) – ooops! playing as well to help celebrate.

You won’t be disappointed in either!

Lisa Sanchez Gonzalez – lsg Original

Lover of music and the visual arts, Lisa Sanchez Gonzalez is the insanity behind lsg original photography. lsg specializes in artist and performer photography. She’s had the honor of photographing national bands such as Weezer, Snoop Dogg, A Simple Plan, Paramore, Whitesnake, Wye Oak, and The Antlers along with countless local bands and performers.

Hailing from Hartford, CT, Lisa is a life- long music connoisseur. Growing up, her mother exposed her to everything from The Stones to Simon and Garfunkel to Earth, Wind, and Fire to Loretta Lynn…and everything in between. No genre was left unexplored in her vinyl collection. She saw her first concert at 14…Rod Stewart at the (then called) Hartford Civic Center. Thirty years later, it’s still her favorite pastime.

Lisa has two kids (grown!) and a day job. Her loves of music and photography have melded into a second career. And her love of CT keeps her promoting and pushing for local artists and performers. Lisa spends the greater part of her free time seeing and shooting live bands, performers, and artists and art work…and purchasing vinyl!
