Introducing…Introducing

Introducing…Introducing

Happy New Year!
1.27.2016

We’ve been working our collective noggins trying to decide our direction this year.  We want to try and bring you as much brand new music as we can…making sure we mix it up with homegrown Connecticut music as well as national bands.

With that said, we are going to bring you a new blog called “Introducing…”  Don’t let the name fool you.  There may be bands we “introduce” that you are already familiar with…or maybe not.

The goal will be to give you a mix of music for your ears and soul to try out.  We’ll give you a cross-genre taste of what’s out there right now; music you may not be hearing in the mainstream.

We would really love your feedback on our choices.  Like it?  Hate it?  Do you want to see them come to CT?  And most importantly, why or why not?

We’d also love to hear from you!  If you have a band you’d like to introduce, please let us know!

So, we hope you enjoy this new addition to Local Band Review!

Lisa Sanchez Gonzalez – lsg Original

Lover of music and the visual arts, Lisa Sanchez Gonzalez is the insanity behind lsg original photography. lsg specializes in artist and performer photography. She’s had the honor of photographing national bands such as Weezer, Snoop Dogg, A Simple Plan, Paramore, Whitesnake, Wye Oak, and The Antlers along with countless local bands and performers.

Hailing from Hartford, CT, Lisa is a life- long music connoisseur. Growing up, her mother exposed her to everything from The Stones to Simon and Garfunkel to Earth, Wind, and Fire to Loretta Lynn…and everything in between. No genre was left unexplored in her vinyl collection. She saw her first concert at 14…Rod Stewart at the (then called) Hartford Civic Center. Thirty years later, it’s still her favorite pastime.

Lisa has two kids (grown!) and a day job. Her loves of music and photography have melded into a second career. And her love of CT keeps her promoting and pushing for local artists and performers. Lisa spends the greater part of her free time seeing and shooting live bands, performers, and artists and art work…and purchasing vinyl!

FEED THE PIGS is a Rock and Roll band – Nothing more, nothing less. We don’t wear eyeliner, skinny jeans or women’s blouses. Our men look like men, and our girl looks like a girl. We play Rock n’ Roll for people that don’t need flashy, formulaic, made for radio type of music that’s sold with strawberry flavored bubble gum. We make music for people that ride motorcycles, drive trucks, love classic cars and aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty. This is Rock and Roll for the people that go to work, not the club – for guys that have beer guts and heavy calloused hands that are washed with Gojo and a shop rag, not guys that shave their chests and shower in Axe body spray. We’re regular guys that make music for regular people. We wear jeans and t-shirts and make music that doesn’t care about styles described as “nu” or “…core.” We may sound like something you’ve heard before, but we don’t care. We’re just playing some good old fashioned, American type gritty Rock and Roll that makes you feel good.
